Amritsar: A meeting of Punjab officials was convened in Delhi by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, which was described as a training programme. The opposition accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of running with a "remote control". On this, CM Mann said, "If required, I will send my officers to Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and even Israel for training. Why should anyone object to this? They (Delhi government) are experts in education, electricity, and health. Why don't I send officers?'
It may be recalled that earlier this week, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had met Punjab officials, while CM Bhagwant Mann was not present in that meeting. The opposition Congress created a major controversy by accusing Kejriwal of running the Punjab government with a "remote control". Former CM Amarinder Singh was also among those who tweeted criticising the meeting.
CM Mann denied that he was ignored by his party president. "Who is the Opposition? Where is the Opposition? Don't criticize just for the sake of criticism. It was I who sent officers to Delhi for training. Can they go anywhere to learn good things? I allowed it. What's wrong with that?''
