Belin: The attack near the Neuschwanstein castle, where an American man is accused of pushing two women down a steep slope and killing one of them, is being investigated by police in southern Germany. They are looking for photos and videos that witnesses may have taken. The attack was followed by the arrest of a suspect.
Police were quoted by the German news agency dpa as saying that they have received about a dozen submissions on a specially created website so far, but they anticipate that many more pictures were taken by tourists who were present at the scene.
According to Kempten police, they are looking for images that might accidentally depict two young women and a man (roughly 30 years old) who were staying east of the Marienbruecke. These people could have been travelling alone or in pairs.
The most well-known of the castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the 19th century, Neuschwanstein, can be seen from the Marienbruecke, also known as Mary's Bridge.
According to the preliminary police investigation, the suspect lured the two female tourists—Americans who were 21 and 22 years old—onto a trail that leads to a viewpoint after meeting them on a hiking trail.
According to police spokesman Holger Stabik, "the suspect attacked the younger of the two women." The older child attempted to run to her aid but was stymied by the suspect, who then choked her before pushing her down a slope.

Prosecutors claimed that the attacker then appeared to have made an attempt at sexual assault before pushing the 21-year-old down the slope as well. She dropped more than 50 metres (165 feet), landing next to her friend.
Mountain rescue personnel found both women. After being flown to a hospital with critical injuries, the 21-year-old passed away. The 22-year-old is still in the hospital but is "responsive," according to the police.
The victims' names and other information have not been released by the authorities.
Prosecutors said the suspect, who was also not identified, is still in custody on suspicion of murder and an attempted murder. They added that it was unclear how long the suspect had been in the nation.
