New Delhi: The monsoon has picked up pace across the country and the rains in the last few days have brought relief from the heat in several states of north India, including Delhi. The same rain is going to continue. The MET department has predicted that there is a possibility of light drizzle to thundershowers in Delhi this week. The MET department said that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in Delhi on August 5 and 6.

The MET Department (IMD) has said that there will be light rain in Delhi city and suburbs between August 3 and 7. There will be more rain between August 4 and 6 as compared to other days. At the same time, Delhi is likely to get hot again from August 8 onwards, but it will be partly cloudy and good sunshine will come out. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rains for 10 districts of Kerala. As per IMD's forecast, a red alert has been issued for all districts of the state except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Kasargod. Earlier, an orange alert was issued for August 2 and 3.

The IMD has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in isolated places of the state by August. As heavy rains continued, the authorities have set up relief camps in various districts and tourist spots in the high-altitude areas of Idukki have been closed. Due to heavy rains, the water level of the rivers of the state has gone up a lot and has reached close to the danger mark. People living at the lower level have been instructed to move to safer places.
