IMD issues heavy rain warning for these states

Kolkata: The low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal has now turned under deep pressure. According to the Met department, heavy rain alert has been sounded in several states due to deep pressure area. The rain on Tuesday morning has added to the hardships of the people in several areas of Odisha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.  There has been water logging in many places, water has entered the houses of the people. In Hyderabad, water logging has been reported in several places following torrential rain on Tuesday.

The IMD's cyclone warning department said that due to its impact, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in vidarbha, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, South Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra and Marathwada areas. Heavy rain may also occur in remote areas of northern Andhra Pradesh, southern Odisha and Vidarbha, the department said. In Odisha, thunderstorm accompanied with rain has added to the woes of the people. Heavy rain lashed several parts of Bhubaneswar. Southern Odisha is under threat of heavy rain.

IMD said, "The low pressure area built in the Bay of Bengal has turned into an area of deep pressure. It is expected to move west-northwest on October 13. Winds are expected to reach a maximum speed of 55-65 kilometres per hour, which can rise to 75 kilometres per hour," he said.
