IMD: Himachal, Uttar Pradesh to receive rainfall by July 9, respite for Delhi

New Delhi: Delhiites are facing heat and humidity due to delayed monsoon, delhi ithad touched 40 degrees celsius on Tuesday while Delhi is still reeling under heat wave conditions and humidity. According to estimates, the maximum temperature in the capital is still going to be around 41 degrees Celsius. However, Delhi is likely to receive light rainfall from Thursday.

In its latest update, the Indian Meteorological Department has said that the monsoon in Delhi will hit Delhi from July 10-11 and before that pre-monsoon rains will continue between 8 and 10, which will provide some respite from the heat. While the weather conditions in Delhi are in the offing, orange alert has been issued in Uttarakhand since yesterday. Heavy rain is likely to occur in Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh for the next three days from today.  Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are also likely to receive heavy rainfall today.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that himachal pradesh, konkan, goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe may receive good rainfall from July 8 to July 10. Heavy rain is expected in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh from July 9.
