Islamabad: The Pakistan cricket team has to play a three-match Test and a similar number of T20 series in England in August-September. Pakistan's PM and former team captain Imran Khan has given permission to the team for this tour. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also announced the 29-member team for this tour. PCB Chairman Ahsan Mani earlier met Imran in Islamabad and briefed him about cricket matters. Due to Coronavirus, the games are stopped in Pakistan.
A PCB source said that "PM Imran Khan told Ehsan Mani that Pakistan team should go to England for Test and T20 series because people want to watch cricket and other sports activities even after coronavirus epidemic." The source said the PCB chief was asked to ensure that a proper protocol should be put in place by the ECB to ensure the safety and health of all players and officials visiting England.
The Pakistan team is scheduled to reach England by the end of this month to play a series of three Tests and three T20 matches in August and September. After reaching England, 29 players and 14 officials will spend 14 days in quarantine and then prepare for three to four weeks of cricket in a bio-safe environment. In isolation training, they will practice matches between the nets and each other before the first test.
