New Delhi: Cricket tournaments are not being played for three months due to corona virus. With the kind of conditions being created in India, there is no possibility of the introduction of cricket in the near future. Now former India team opener Wasim Jaffer has demanded the cancellation of Vijay Hazare, Duleep and Deodhar Trophy this season. Jaffer believes that the board should use that time to organize the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali T20.
Jaffer wants to ensure that the players get full time for rest and are not in a hurry for various competitions. The domestic season is expected to start in August. However, the BCCI has not made any announcement regarding this and has adopted the wait-and-see policy.
Jaffer has further said that, "Whenever the session starts, the priority will be to organize IPL. BCCI may start with the IPL as the first tournament. "BCCI is considering a plan to host the IPL in September-October, but it will depend on the future of the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup."
