Lucknow: Imran Masood, considered a strong Muslim face of western Uttar Pradesh, is likely to join the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Imran Masood is likely to meet BSP supremo and former CM Mayawati on Wednesday (October 19). After meeting Mayawati, Imran can officially join the BSP. Masood was earlier in Congress, but before the UP elections, he joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) and is now going to go to the BSP.

According to sources close to Imran Masood, it has also been decided that the BSP is going to field Imran Masood from the Saharanpur seat. Those close to Imran Masood say that Mayawati is also looking for a big Muslim face in western Uttar Pradesh and Imran is the perfect choice for her. Imran Masood has his own support base and also has a lot of essence among Muslim voters.  

Those close to Imran Masood say that if Dalit-Muslim voters come together in Saharanpur, it will be a guarantee of victory from this seat. In such a situation, this alliance is beneficial for both Imran Masood and BSP. Another thing with Imran Masood is that he has been getting support from every caste-religion class. In such a situation, if the votes of Dalit Muslims and a few other communities are encountered, then the doors of victory will open for Imran Masood.
