New Delhi: Congress party is planning to vacate the office of Seva Dal at 26, Akbar Road soon. The Congress started construction of its new headquarters on Kotla Road in 2009, the foundation stone of which was laid by then PM Manmohan Singh and Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi in December of the same year, but the work is still not completed.

On the one hand, the fate of the Akbar Road office also hangs in the balance, on the other hand, the party has no option but to vacate its office from the adjoining 26, Akbar Road bungalow. The work of erecting temporary structures in the premises for the Seva Dal office working in the second bungalow, off 24 Akbar Road, has now been started. The party has been ordered to vacate the bungalow which houses the Seva Dal's office.

Furniture and other items are being taken from the bungalow at 26, Akbar Road, which houses the office of the Seva Dal. It is adjacent to the party's national headquarters at 24, Akbar Road. The Seva Dal office will be shifted to a bungalow on Raisina Road, which also houses the offices of Youth Congress and NSUI. According to reports, the party will also vacate a flat in Chanakyapuri by April 15.
