Hyderabad: Members of the Bajrang Dal organised anti-Day Valentine's protests in Hyderabad, requesting that the government recognise February 14 as Amar Jawan Diwas.

On Saturday, Bajrang Dal members burned greeting cards and Valentine effigies at Abids Circle in Hyderabad.

"Celebrations of Valentine's Day are being imposed across the country. Multinational companies make a lot of money selling greeting cards and private album songs. The Bajrang Dal wishes to convey the notion that there are several love stories in India, such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata "Kailash, a Bajrang Dal member, expressed his thoughts.

"More than 40 warriors gave their life in Pulwama, and it is the youth's responsibility to learn and emulate these heroes, not Valentine's Day. We demand that the Centre and the state of Telangana declare February 14 as Amar Jawan Diwas "he added.
