Indore: Police have registered a case against five persons and arrested the accused and his mother in connection with the gang rape of a 30-year-old woman constable in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh. Inspector-in-charge of Mahila Police Station Anuradha Girwal said on Saturday that the incident occurred this month when the woman custodian lodged a complaint on September 13, after investigation, a case has been registered this week against five persons including the accused and his mother and the main accused and his mother have been arrested.

He said that five months ago, the woman had befriended a young man named Pawan on Facebook and since then the youth had been constantly chatting with the woman. Pawan invited the woman to attend his younger brother's birthday party where the woman was gang-raped by three persons including Pawan. He said the victim said the accused also made a video of the act and kept threatening to make it viral.

The police officer said the victim also said that the mother of the accused also threatened her and a relative of the accused also asked for money by threatening to kill her. He said the victim is originally a resident of Neemuch and was earlier posted in Neemuch while she is currently posted in Indore district police. Police are investigating the matter in detail.
