USA: In order to safeguard its users' security and privacy, WhatsApp has unveiled a slew of new security features. The company stated in an announcement that the new features give users more privacy protection and control over their messages.

Account Protect, Device Verification, and Automatic Security Codes are some of the new features. In the upcoming days, the company will roll out the features.

The launch of WhatsApp's new privacy and security features coincides with the company's 'Stay Safe with WhatsApp' campaign.

The goal of the campaign is to raise user awareness of the security tools and features on the messaging platform that can shield users from online fraud and scams. The platform's security and safety have been a top priority for the Meta-owned business.

WhatsApp's new Account Protect feature will notify users if someone attempts to transfer their account to another device. WhatsApp will confirm that it is the user when they attempt to move their account to another device.

As a result, before switching to a new device, the app may now ask users to confirm their identity on the previous one.

Users don't need to do anything to use the following feature. It is known as "Device Verification," and it aids in preventing attackers from using on-device malware to access WhatsApp accounts and send spam.

The business claims to have increased security measures to aid in account authentication. It will "better protect you if your device is compromised," WhatsApp added.

WhatsApp verifies encryption using a QR code or a special 60-digit security code. The business has introduced a feature that will allow users to automatically verify encryption, simplifying and opening up this process.
The "Key Transparency" process serves as the foundation for this feature. By selecting the encryption tab from the contact's information, users can access it.

WhatsApp wrote in a blog post that while there are many things it can do to make security simple for everyone, there are two features that only you can activate: two-step verification and the use of end-to-end encrypted backups
