New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has interacted with farmers across the country while launching the "Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmik Hamari" campaign as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. During this, the Union Minister said that under his government, the income of farmers has not only doubled but also 10 times. The Agriculture Minister claimed that the income of farmers has increased by two to ten times and said that such progressive farmers should go from village to village and make the people doing farming aware so that they can also prosper.

Addressing the Crop Insurance School under the "Kisan Bhagidari Utbhi Grahyay" programme, Narendra Singh Tomar said that farmers related to the latest technology and agriculture schemes of the government have prospered and their families have prospered. During the last five to six years, the income of such farmers has increased by two to ten times. The Union Minister further said that if these farmers go to the village as "agriculture ambassadors", then the farming economy will be strengthened.

He further said that today farmers are getting a good price for their produce in the market from the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Wheat and mustard are getting better prices and adulteration in mustard oil has been stopped, which has made the farmers quite happy. The Government will also take other such steps which are in the interest of the farmers. He further said that a provision of one lakh crore rupees has been made for construction of agricultural infrastructure in the rural area, out of which projects worth 8,000 crore rupees have been sanctioned. This will lead to development of infrastructure and other facilities. The contribution of banks in this case has been commendable.
