Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, both doses of corona vaccine of 0.8 crore people have been received, which is about 55 per cent of the total adult population of the state. More than 91 per cent of the people have been given the first dose of the vaccine. Health workers, frontline workers, corona warrior pre-caution doses are also going on a war footing and about 0.1 lakh people have got booster doses in just two daays.

Till Monday evening, 29 lakh 40 thousand 15-17 adolescents had been vaccinated in the state, out of which about 40 per cent are from Basti district. CM Yogi Adityanath has set a target of 100 per cent vaccination in the state ahead of the elections. According to the new policy, both doses of vaccine will be given to all in the district concerned by 10 days before the polling date.

As per the election schedule announced by the Election Commission, additional vaccination centres and vaccinators will be installed in the district where polling is to be held first. The vaccination programme is being implemented by the health department with a new strategy following cm Yogi Adityanath's direction.
