The Fortuner of 7 friends travelling from Uttar Pradesh to Manali was hit by an Innova car from behind. In the accident, the Fortuner car overturned uncontrollably after hitting a divider on Pipli GT Road and one of the youths on board lost his life on the spot while others were injured. One of the injured is said to be critical. The accused Innova driver fled the spot along with the vehicle after the accident. The injured were rushed to the hospital with the help of ambulances by the police who reached the spot. Police have registered a case against the accused driver and are on the lookout.

In a complaint lodged at Thana Sadar, Manish Wasi village Bhatjan district Ghaziabad has said that at around 9 pm on Saturday, he was riding in Fortuner with his brother Ashwani, friend Arun Wasi Plota Thana Bhojpur, Vikas, Akash Wasi village Dadupur, Ankit Wasi village Bodaki, Vipul Vasi Village Kheri District Gautam Buddha Nagar (UP) to visit Manali (Himachal Pradesh). The vehicle was being driven by Arun and Vikas was sitting in the adjoining seat. Ankit, Ashwini, Akash and Vipul were sitting in the middle seat.

Meanwhile, when they approached Pipli GT Road at around 2 pm, their car was hit by a speeding Innova car from behind. This disturbed the balance of the vehicle and it overturned on the road hitting the divider. Friend Arun (driver) and brother Ashwani were seriously injured in the accident. Somehow he got out of the car and arranged help from passersby. Meanwhile, someone informed Dial 112 and called to the spot. After which all of them were pulled out of the vehicle. In view of the critical condition of Arun and Ashwani, both were rushed to a private hospital with the help of ambulances where the doctor declared Arun dead. The injured youths were taken to Gautam Budh Nagar for treatment by their families.
