Virat Kohli led team India is to face Australia today in Sydney for the second T-20 match. India won the opening Twenty20 international on Friday in Canberra by 11 runs. Australia who suffered defeat in the match got another blow as fast bowler Mitchell Starc was ruled out of the final two games of their Twenty20 International series with India on compassionate grounds.
Starc has left the team with the blessing of coach Justin Langer after being informed of an unspecified family illness. Langer said that the Austalia will give Mitch all the time he needs and welcome him back into the squad whenever he feels the time is right for him and his family. The pacer's withdrawal is the latest change to the Host team in the past week with David Warner and Ashton Agar both out injured, while pace spearhead Pat Cummins is being rested. Opening batsmen D'Arcy Short and spinners Mitch Swepson and Nathan Lyon have been added to the squad.
Talking about India, pacer Shardul Thakur, inducted in the T20I team after Ravindra Jadeja suffered a concussion, had claimed that India is looking at the white-ball leg of the Australian tour as a series of six matches instead of it being one ODI and one T20 series.
