Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya's fitness remains under question. Hardik has also not been selected in the squad for the T20 and Test series against Sri Lanka so far. Now, Chief Selector Chetan Sharma has spoken big about Hardik Pandya. He has said that the selection committee will consider Hardik Pandya's return to the national team only when he is 100 per cent match fit.
Chetan Sharma said in the press conference that "Hardik was definitely an important part of the Indian team. While we can be sure that he is ready to play 100 per cent match fit and if he is bowling, then definitely his name is going to be considered," Sharma said, adding that the selection committee is going to give importance to his performance in the Ranji Trophy. Sharma said, "You can ask Hardik why he is not playing Ranji trophy. We are looking at people who are playing for the Ranji Trophy and performing there. So we are happy to see the competition and see the performance of the boys."
Since the T20 World Cup 2021, Hardik Pandya has not played competitive cricket. Questions are constantly raised about his bowling as the former Mumbai Indians all-rounder did not bowl a single over in IPL 2021. Only 4 overs were bowled for the Indian team in the T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya was signed by the new IPL team Gujarat Titans for Rs 15 crore before the auction. He has also been entrusted with the responsibility of captaincy.
