New Delhi: India's product exports reached an all-time high of USD 400 billion on March 23, owing to a strong increase in shipments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised on the milestone, expressing that the lofty goal of exporting commodities is critical in the country's journey toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat. This has announced by the PM on Twitter noting that the country has met its highest-ever export target nine days ahead of schedule.
"India set a lofty goal of USD 400 billion in goods exports, which it achieved for the first time ever. For this success, I salute our farmers, weavers, MSMEs, manufacturers, and exporters. PM Modi tweeted, "This is a critical milestone in our Aatmanirbhar Bharat path."
In February, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal told the Lok Sabha that India has exceeded USD 30 billion in exports for the tenth month in a row, from April 2021 to January 2022.
"It's a record; we've already surpassed USD 334 billion in exports, which is more than India has ever done in a full calendar year." He had stated, "We are on course to attain USD 400 billion in exports."
