The list of prisoners and fishermen has been exchanged on Wednesday. This action has been carried out between India and Pakistan. After this step of the government, fishermen can return home. The Foreign Ministry has taken this step in view of the provisions of the 2008 agreement. Accordingly, on January 1 and July 1, such lists are exchanged every year.

India has handed over 265 Pakistani prisoners to Pakistan. In which 97 fishermen are also named. Apart from this, the list which Pakistan has shared. It includes the names of 54 prisoners and 270 fishermen. Who are either Indian or suspected to be the residence of India. The lists were shared via diplomatic channels simultaneously in New Delhi and Islamabad.

India has demanded the release of Indian security personnel from Pakistan besides their boats. Which includes names of missing fishermen and anonymous prisoners. It is hoped that Pakistan can soon free Indian citizens. In this context, Pakistan was asked to release and repatriate 7 Indian civilian prisoners and 106 Indian fishermen, whose nationality has been confirmed and reported to Pakistan. In addition, Pakistan has been asked to provide immediate consular access to Indian fishermen and 18 are believed to be Indian civilian prisoners who are in Pakistani custody.
