Continuing the winning streak, team India beat the New Zelanland with the eight wickets in the first ODI in Napier. Opener Shikhar Dhawan smashed an unbeaten 75-run knock as India chased down the revised target of 156 runs with 85 balls to spare in Napier.

Shikhar Dhawan scored an unbeaten 75 off 103 balls. He hit six boundaries in his innings. Captain Virat Kohli scored 45 runs off 59 balls with the help of 3 fours. Shikhar and Virat shared a 91-run partnership for the second wicket.

Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets while Mohammed Shami took three wickets as India wrapped up host for 157 runs in 38 overs in the first ODI of the five-match series in Napier. New Zealand Skipper Kane Williamson top-scored with 64 runs but the hosts failed to put up an impressive show after opting to bat in the series opener.

Virat Kohli's squard riding high on the success of their historic tour of Australia, are facing New Zealand's strongest possible line-up. With the focus entirely on World Cup preparations, the visitors will hope to find a perfect middle-order combination despite their first-ever bilateral ODI series win on Australian soil.
