PMÂ Modi wrote on narendramodi.in on getting the leadership of this prestigious global group that from today, India will have the presidency of G-20 in its hands. During the last 17 chairs of the G-20, there have been many important results, including ensuring macroeconomic stability, rationalizing international taxation, and reducing the burden of debt from the heads of many countries. We will benefit from these achievements and move forward from here on. On the importance of G-20, the Prime Minister said, "I ask myself - can G-20 still move forward? Can we take the initiative to bring about a fundamental change in mindset for the welfare of the entire humanity? I believe yes, we can do that.''
Targeting some countries, PM Modi said, 'Unfortunately, we are still stuck in the same zero-sum mindset. We see this when many countries fight among themselves for territory or resources. We see this when the supply of essential commodities is weaponized. We see this when vaccines are hoarded by a few, even though billions of people are vulnerable to diseases.' Referring to the country's universal spirit, the Prime Minister said that India's chairmanship of the G-20 will work to promote this universal spirit of unity across the world. That's why our theme is 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'. This is not just a slogan. It takes into account recent changes in the human condition that we have collectively failed to appreciate.
