New Delhi: Serum Institute of India (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla has termed the rules for entering the UK as "chaotic." In fact, Britain's Boris Johnson government has categorically refused to approve vaccination status against corona of Indian passengers. It also includes passengers who have taken Covishield supplements. There has been a dispute between India and the UK.
That is why the Government of India has also now made a 10-day quarantine period mandatory for people coming to India from the UK. India on Friday announced new rules for British travellers. Serum CEO said in an interview, 'It's completely chaotic. I urge all countries to work together to sign a mutually agreed agreement. At least, we can accept a certification program using vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).'
In fact, according to new rules framed by the British government, Indian citizens going there will be treated as 'unvaccinated.' Even if the passenger has taken both doses of the vaccine. State that Covishield is an Indian variant of the AstraZeneca vaccine in the UK and SII makes the vaccine by the same name. It is one of the six vaccines sanctioned by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI).
India also responded in the same language:-
According to the new rules, Indian citizens will have to remain in quarantine for 10 days on arrival in the UK if they are 'unvaccinated.' In a tit-for-tat reply, India on Friday announced that all people coming to the country from the UK from October 4 will also have to stay in quarantine for 10 days. Reacting to the rules announced by New Delhi, the British High Commission said the UK is continuing discussions with the Government of India on technical cooperation for people vaccinated by a relevant health authority in India.
