India-China agree after conflict in Ladakh, will resolve boundary dispute by negotiation

New Delhi: The diplomatic level agreement before the military-level talks between India and China on the ongoing deadlock on the border has opened the way for peace to end. On Friday, the two countries held diplomatic-level talks, in which it was agreed to remove differences from the negotiations. The two countries also agreed to respect each other's sensitivity, concern and aspirations and not allow them to become contentious.

Through the video conference, talks were held between Joint Secretary (East Asia) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Naveen Srivastava and Wu Xianghao, Director General in the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Without directly mentioning the military standoff, the Foreign Ministry said the two sides reviewed the status of bilateral relations, including current developments. The Ministry of External Affairs has said in a statement, "In this context, they recalled the consensus between the leaders of the two countries that a peaceful, stable and balanced relationship between India and China is a positive thing for stability in the current global situation."

The statement said that according to the guidelines given by the leadership of the two sides, the two countries have agreed to resolve differences between themselves. This is stated in the context of decisions taken in two informal summits held between PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
