New Delhi: In some states of India, the coronavirus (Covid-19) infection has been on the rise amid a sudden spurt in the past few days and the death toll remains above 100. During the last 24 hours, active cases have increased from 4170, while it registered an increase of 8718 on Monday, 8,522 on Sunday, and 4,785 on Saturday.

The number of people dying from coronavirus has been recorded at 131 during this period. On Monday, the figure was 118,158 on Sunday, 140 on Saturday, 117 on Friday, 126 on Thursday, 133 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, more than 3 crores 29 lakh 47 thousand people have been vaccinated in the country so far. According to data released Tuesday morning by the Union Health ministry, 24,492 new cases of corona infection have been registered during the last 24 hours, making the number of infections more than one crore 14 lakh nine thousand.

In the last 24 hours, 20,191 patients have been recovered, with 1,10,27543 patients have also been corona-free so far. With the death of 131 more patients in the same period, the number of those who lost their lives in the grip of the disease has gone up to 1,58856. The recovery rate in the country is 96.64 and the rate of active cases has gone up to 1.95% while the mortality rate is now 1.39%.
