New Delhi: The scourge of corona infection in the country is not going to stop. The highest number of corona cases were recorded in 35 states and Union Territories till 11 pm on Friday. In these States, 3,455 people lost their lives due to infection. More than 3,000 people have died for the fourth consecutive day in the country.
The data was released by the health departments of the State and Union Territories. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Odisha, and Jammu, and Kashmir have recorded the highest number of cases so far. Maharashtra has reported the highest number of new corona cases. According to data released by the Maharashtra Health Department, 62,919 new corona cases were registered in the state on Friday. Meanwhile, 828 people have lost their lives during this period. According to the department, 69,710 patients recovered in the state during the 24 hours. The number of patients under treatment in the State is 6,62,640.
Earlier, the Supreme Court on Friday asked the Delhi government to stop "political quarrels" and start talks with the Centre to provide relief to covid-19 patients in the country's capital. The Supreme Court termed the rise in cases during the second wave of corona as a "humanitarian crisis" and asked the AAP government to cooperate with the Central government to save lives.
