New Delhi: India's COVID-19 tally grew to 3,46,682,736, while the number of active cases fell to 93,277, the lowest in 559 days, According to Union Health Ministry data released on Saturday. The death toll had risen to 4,75,128 with the addition of 393 fatalities.

For the past 44 days, the daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 15,000 per day. The number of active cases has dropped to 93,277, accounting for 0.27 percent of all infections, the lowest in 559 days, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.36 percent, the highest since March last year, as per the health ministry.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 case count has decreased by 1,666 cases. The daily positivity rate has been 0.64 percent for the past 68 days, and it has been less than 2% for the previous 68 days. According to the ministry, the weekly positive rate is 0.71 percent, and it has been below one percent for the past 27 days.

The number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 3,41,14,331, with a case fatality rate of 1.37 percent, according to the report. The total number of vaccine doses given out in the country as part of the COVID-19 vaccination effort has surpassed 131.99 crore.
