New Delhi: According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, the total number of infected people in India has increased to 3,20,77,706 on Thursday after 41,195 new corona cases were detected in the last 24 hours. With yesterday's 38,353 cases, this number has increased considerably. With this, 490 people have died due to covid-19 in the last 24 hours, after which the death toll has now gone up to 4,29,669.

The number of active cases has come down to 387,987 and is now 1.21 percent of the total caseload. According to health ministry data, 31,260,050 people have recovered till Thursday. In a significant achievement, the country's total corona vaccination has crossed 520 million (52,32,53,450) milestones. Some states in the country are reporting an increase in daily average cases. However, the number is below the record level.

Experts have predicted that the country may have the third wave by the end of August. The recent surge in cases is mostly due to the highlight transmutable mutation of the Covid-19 delta variant. On Wednesday, the head of Britain's Oxford Vaccine Group said the highly permeable delta variant of the coronavirus could undermine hard immunity.
