NEW DELHI: India coronavirus Updated as of September 7, 2022: India reported 5,379 news Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is considered a marginal rise over the previous day's count of 4,417, said the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.
In the corresponding period, Indiarecorded 27 more Covid-19 related deaths taking the national death tally to 5,28,057 as per the report.
Active Covid cases have declined to 50,594, while the death toll has climbed to 5,28,057 with 27 fatalities, including 11 deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am showed. The total number of patients who have recovered in the last 24 hours is 7,094, bringing the total to 4,38,93,590. As a result, India's recovery rate is currently 98.70 percent.
India's weekly positivity rate is currently at 2.0 percent, and the country's daily positivity rate has barely increased to 1.67 percent. Also in the same duration, a total of 3,21,917 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 88.80 crore.
As of Wednesday (September 7) morning, India's Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 213.91 crore. Since the start of the immunisation campaign for this age group, almost 4.05 crore adolescents have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
