On the morning of September 19th, India took a decisive step by expelling a high-ranking Canadian diplomat following the summoning of Canada's ambassador to India by the Ministry of External Affairs. This stern action was taken to convey the Indian government's displeasure regarding the alleged interference of Canadian diplomats in its internal affairs and their suspected involvement in anti-India activities.

The removal of an Indian diplomat amid suspicions of ties between Indian government officials and the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a prominent Khalistani figure, by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has sparked renewed attention in the matter. Nijjar, a 46-year-old Canadian citizen, was a subject of intense interest for Indian authorities due to his involvement in terrorist activities prior to his unexpected demise outside a gurudwara in Surrey, British Columbia, at the hands of unidentified individuals.

The expulsion of the senior Canadian diplomat came as a tit-for-tat response, as Canada had earlier expelled an Indian diplomat, citing "credible allegations" of India's involvement in the assassination of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

In response to these allegations and actions, the Indian government firmly rejected Canada's claims, dismissing them as both "absurd and motivated." They pointed out that these allegations seemed designed to divert attention from the ongoing issue of Khalistani terrorists and extremists finding sanctuary in Canada, thereby posing a continuous threat to India's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Indian government expressed deep concern about Canada's inaction on this matter.

Furthermore, India highlighted its concern about certain Canadian political figures openly expressing sympathy for these elements. The Indian government asserted that Canada has a history of providing a platform for various illegal activities, including human trafficking, murders, and organized crime, which is not a recent development. India vehemently disassociated itself from any connection to such activities and called upon the Canadian government to take swift and effective legal measures against all anti-India elements operating within its borders.

In summary, India's expulsion of the Canadian diplomat reflects its growing unease with Canadian interference in its internal affairs and the perceived lack of action against elements hostile to India on Canadian soil. The diplomatic tensions between the two countries continue to simmer, with India maintaining its stance on the matter.
