In the Women's Hockey World League Semi-Final yesterday in the 5th-8th classification match India got defeated by the hands of Japan by 0-2. With this loss, India's hopes of qualifying for 2018 Women's World Cup are shattered.
India started well as Monika getting an early shot on goal in the opening minute of the game but it was saved by the Japan's goalkeeper Megumi Kageyama. The Japan won their first penalty corner of the match in the seventh minute which was successfully converted by Kana Nomura.
Japan won two more penalty corners in the 8th and the 10th minutes but India's Monika and Savita came up with good saves, respectively.
