New Delhi: Pakistan has decided to open the Kartarpur corridor from June 29. India expressed displeasure over the proposal to open the Pak corridor, saying that the two-day notice period for opening the Kartarpur Corridor is against the bilateral agreement, which gives seven days notice.

Sources in the Government of India have said that, 'It should be noted that Pakistan is trying to build its goodwill by proposing to restart the Kartarpur corridor on 2 days' short notice on June 29.  India has to share details with Pakistan at least 7 days before the date of the bilateral agreement visit. For this, India will need to open the registration process in advance.

India has temporarily stopped trips across the border in view of the growing cases of Corona. The government will take a decision by taking advice from health officials and other concerned officials. Sources have also said that 'Pakistan has not built a bridge on its own on the Ravi river in flooded areas even after being bound in a bilateral agreement. When the monsoon arrives, it will also have to be seen whether the journey is possible through the corridor in a safe manner.
