The Indian team has suffered a major setback before the England tour. Opener Shubman Gill is likely to be ruled out of the five-match Test series due to injury. However, it is yet to be announced. The five-match Test series against England is to begin from August 4, there is still a lot of time. Oblivion is yet clear about Shubman Gill's injury. It is being reported that he is troubled by a calf, hamstring injury.
There are even considerations that Gill, who since making his debut in December last year, has become the permanent opener in Tests, may end up missing the entire England series. While it’s too early to illustrate the impression his absence could have at the top of the order admitting he’s just played eight Tests, the Indian team management will have to zero in on a replacement should Gill end up being ruled out.
According to a famous news website, if Shubman Gill is not available for the Test series, then Abhimanyu Easwaran, a 25-year-old Bengal opener can be added in his place. Recently, Shubman Gill also didn't perform well in the last match of the world test championship against New Zealand Nothing special with the bat in the final of the World Test Championship. Team India lost this match to New Zealand by 8 wickets. Also, there might be a chance for KL Rahul or Mayank Agrawal can make their pair with Rohit Sharma to open for the team India.
