Melbourne: The Indian team has targeted Australia for 303 runs in the third and final ODI match of the series in Canberra. Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian team, decided to bat after winning the toss. Team India scored a score of 302 runs, losing five wickets. Earlier, captain Kohli made four changes in the team, he gave the opportunity to Shubman Gill with Shikhar Dhawan as the opening pair. It was felt that Dhawan-Gill's pair would form a good partnership, but at the score of 26, Dhawan scored 16 runs and returned to the pavilion.

After this, Virat Kohli, who got down to batting, advanced the innings with Gill. Together with Gill, Kohli quickly raised the team's score to 50. However, Shubman Gill left Kohli with 33 runs. After this, the vice-captain of the team, KL Rahul, who came to bat, returned to the pavilion on the personal score of 5 runs. Team India's fifth wicket fell as Virat Kohli. He was dismissed for a score of 63 runs while he scored the 60th half-century of his career. After Kohli's dismissal, the innings of the Indian team was handled by Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja and took the score beyond 200.

During this, Hardik Pandya also completed his half-century. He completed the 100-run partnership with Jadeja, taking the score to 250. Jadeja completed the 13th half-century of his career by hitting fours and sixes. India scored 302 runs in 50 overs, for the Indian team Hardik Pandya scored 92 not out, Jadeja 66 not out, Kohli scored 63 runs. While Aston Agar took two wickets for Australia, Hazlewood, Zampa, Sean Abbott took one wicket each.
