Following a stalemate by the Duckworth-Lewis method in the third and final game due to rain interruption, India defeated New Zealand 1-0 to win the three-match T20 series.
After the hosts made the decision to bat, India's bowlers put on an impressive performance to dismiss New Zealand for 160. India was 75 for four in 9 overs while chasing the target, and skipper Hardik Pandya hit an unbeaten 18-ball 30 at the time of play's interruption due to rain.
The game couldn't continue because of the constant downpour that pounded McLean Park. Rain forced a halt to play, and India was tied with the DLS score when play resumed. Glenn Phillips (54) and Devon Conway (59) each scored fifty goals for New Zealand. Following the departures of Mark Chapman (12) and Finn Allen (3) during the powerplay overs, the two partnered for 86 runs. New Zealand was all out in 19.4 overs thanks to a batting collapse that the Indian bowlers skillfully orchestrated.
With the ball, Mohammed Siraj (4/17) and Arshdeep Singh (4/37) made an impression, each taking four wickets. On Times of India, you may view a live scorecard, ball-by-ball commentary, and cricket scores.
Really pleased with how things have gone thus far, but I would have loved to see a full game here because, as Siraj noted, we have no control over the weather. The pressure is constant, but I still enjoy getting out there and expressing myself while I'm hitting. without bringing any luggage with me. The goal and strategy will not change. We are free to just express ourselves, albeit we would have preferred a full game.
