New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) announced on Wednesday that it has received the delivery of its first Crash Fire Tender (CFT) designed and developed within the country.

"The IAF recently welcomed the arrival of its first indigenous Crash Fire Tender, marking a significant milestone. Manufactured by an Indian MSME firm based in Noida, the tender was delivered under a contract worth Rs 291 crore. Remarkably, the Indian manufacturer managed to deliver the CFT within just 14 months of signing the contract," the Air Force shared on its social media platform.

Despite facing challenges posed by disruptions in the global supply chain, the timely delivery of the CFT underscores the commitment of Indian entities towards meeting the requirements of the Indian Air Force. The post further emphasized the IAF's ongoing support for indigenous defence manufacturing and production.

The Indian Air Force has been actively promoting indigenous production and has procured numerous domestically manufactured items to fulfill its operational needs. This move aligns with the government's Make in India initiative, which aims to bolster the country's defence sector through indigenous manufacturing. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several initiatives have been implemented to bolster indigenous production capabilities in the defence sector.
