New Delhi: Air pollution has reached such a dangerous level in North India that due to this people have reduced their age by 7 years. A study of the Air Quality Index of North India by the Energy Policy Institute of the University of Chicago has revealed that air pollution has reached three times fatal levels here. Between 1998 and 2016, the pollution of Particulate Matter in India has increased by 69 percent.

As a result, the average age of people in India was decreasing 2.2 years due to particulate matter pollution in 1998, it is decreasing by 4.3 years from 2016. According to World Health Organization (WHO) standards in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar in 1998, particulate matter pollution was 3-6 times more and people had lost 2-5 years of age. Now in the case of UP in 2016, particulate matter pollution has increased 10 times as per the World Health Organization standards and the age of people has decreased by 8.6 years.
