New Delhi: As part of the ongoing efforts to further strengthen its presence on the borders, the Indian Army has acquired about 14 acres of land in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The ANI has given information in this regard by quoting sources. According to sources, the army will use the land to build buildings there for its military unit stationed near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.

Sources have said that "Such land acquisition is usually routine work of the army and land acquisition is done whenever military units require it. The Army has its own two Corps, which oversee Arunachal Pradesh, including 3 Corps at Dimapur and 4 Corps at Tezpur." In view of the ongoing border dispute between them in East Ladakh and other areas, both the vessels have now stationed themselves at the forward places here.

From April-May last year, tension is going on between China and India on the border dispute. At the same time, India has reacted strongly to Chinese efforts to bring unilateral changes along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
