Kulgam: An Indian Army Jawan, Javaid Ahmad Wani, has been reported missing from Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, as per the information provided by news agency PTI on 30th July. Wani, a resident of Achathal area in Kulgam, had gone missing on Saturday evening.

In response to the concerning situation, security forces have initiated a large-scale search operation to locate the missing soldier. According to officials, Wani, who was serving in the Ladakh region, was on leave, and his car was later found abandoned in Paranhall.

The soldier's distressed father has made a heartfelt appeal to those who may have been involved in his abduction, urging them to release his son unharmed. Describing him as the sole breadwinner of the family, the father implored for his safe return. "If he has troubled anyone, I apologize for that. If they want, I will get him to quit his job as well," he said while speaking to reporters.

The family stated that Wani had left the house on Saturday evening to buy meat, as he was scheduled to return to his place of posting on Sunday. "He told his brother to drop him at the airport tomorrow (Sunday). Sometime later, we got a call that his car was found abandoned with its doors ajar," the father revealed.

Eyewitnesses reported the presence of blood marks in the car, although officials have not yet confirmed this detail. Meanwhile, police have been conducting extensive raids across Kulgam district and surrounding areas in a bid to rescue the missing soldier.

The situation has raised concerns in the Kashmir Valley, and the authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to locate the Jawan and ensure his safe return to his family.
