Terrorist 'Babur' who has been spreading terror in valley for 4 years, killed

Srinagar: Security forces have gunned down a Pakistani terrorist in an encounter in Kulgam in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir late on Wednesday night. The terrorist has been identified as Babur, a resident of Pakistan. He had been active in Shopian and Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir since 2018. A rifle, a pistol and two grenades were recovered from the slain terrorist.

Kashmir Police IG Vijay Kumar said that policeman Rohit Chhib has also attained valour during the encounter. In addition, 3 Army personnel have been injured. Two civilians also sustained minor injuries. The Terrorist Babur, linked to Pakistan-backed terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, was involved in several incidents in the Valley. The encounter started on Wednesday when a joint team of police and army launched a search operation at Pariwan village in Kulgam.

Officials said the terrorist Babur was hiding in the house. The operation is over with his death. In a tweet from its official Twitter handle, Jammu and Kashmir Police said, "The slain terrorist has been identified as Babur Bhai of Pakistan. He had been active in Shopian and Kulgam since 2018.''
