In the quarter-finals of the ongoing AIBA World Boxing Championship held in Hamburg, Germany the wild card entry Indian boxer Gaurav Bidhuri defeated Tunisia's Bilel Mhamdi by 3-0 and had assured a medal.
The player is the fourth Indian boxer who achieved it. The other three Indians are Shiva Thapa (2015), Vikas Krishan (2011) and Vijender Singh (2009).
In the Bantamweight (56kg) category in Hamburg, he had assured himself the medal.
