The Indian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has taken a decisive step by banning the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), led by Yasin Malik, who is currently imprisoned on terror charges. Additionally, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, along with four factions of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, has also been banned. These measures have been enacted due to their involvement in activities aimed at fostering terrorism and secessionism within the Union territory.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, made this announcement, emphasizing that those who challenge the security, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation will face severe legal consequences. This stern action underscores the government's commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Furthermore, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs issued a separate notification banning four factions of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, including those led by Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Bashir Ahmad Tota, Ghulam Mohammad Khan, and Yaqoob Sheikh. These factions have been found to be actively involved in activities detrimental to the nation's security and unity.

Amit Shah reaffirmed the government's stance, stating that the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, along with other banned groups, has been promoting and supporting the secession of Jammu and Kashmir through terrorist means, posing a threat to India's integrity.

"The Modi government will not tolerate any form of terrorism or activities that seek to undermine the unity and integrity of our nation," Shah emphasized.

This prohibition reinforces the government's commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. The move is aimed at safeguarding the interests of the nation and fostering peace and prosperity in the region.
