New Delhi: The rainfall in the country is low for the next five days. However, some states may receive light rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed in this regard. Heavy rain conditions are likely to continue in northern parts of Uttar Pradesh including north-eastern and eastern India and Bihar till August 14 and will then subside.

According to IMD, most parts of the plains of north India (Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan), Central India, and Maharashtra and Gujarat may receive light rain till August 15. Tamil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rainfall from August 11 to 14 and Kerala from August 11 to 12. According to IMD, "The current weakness of monsoon across the country could persist for the next five days. Heavy rain conditions in north-eastern and eastern India, northern parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are likely to continue till August 14 and will subside thereafter.''

Heavy rain, heavy rains at isolated places, and extremely heavy rains are likely to continue in Bihar between August 11 and 12 in areas adjoining the Ganga in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal between August 11 and 14. According to IMD data, the country has received five percent less rainfall than normal from June 1 to August 10.
