New Delhi: Due to western disturbances, parts of northwest India, central and eastern India may receive rains this week. A cyclonic circulation is associated with Central Pakistan and West Rajasthan. This cyclonic circulation will start showing the effect on the weather in northwest India and the Western Himalayan region from tonight.

IMD said in a statement on Monday that, 'From the night of February 2 to February 5, lightning and hailstorm are forecast in the Western Himalayan region. Heavy rain and snowfall may occur in Jammu and Kashmir on February 3 and February 4 and in Himachal Pradesh on February 4. From February 3 to 5, hail and thunderstorms are expected to fall in the plains of northwestern India. On 4 and 5 February, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.'

RK Gennami, the senior scientist at the National Weather Forecasting Center, said that this western disturbance will affect a large area from northwest to eastern India. There are chances of rain and storm. There is continuous snowfall in the hill areas, which is directly impacting the plains. Visibility was very low this morning as dense fog enveloped the nation's capital, Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi today is likely to be around 4°C and the maximum temperature around 26°C.
