New Delhi: A police officer who doesn't do his job well will typically be suspended or subject to disciplinary action. Any police official who is the subject of serious allegations may be relieved of their duties or even expelled from the force if the allegations are proven to be true.
A judicial investigation into the official who is accused of imprisoning five junior police officers in the Indian state of Bihar was demanded on Saturday by the Bihar Police Association, a staff union with district branches. The incident has caused resentment among state ranks.

According to media reports, Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Mangla jailed five rookie police officers on September 8 after he was dissatisfied with their performance. Videos of the incident appeared on social media, despite his denial of the allegations.
Five police officers are visible inside the cell in the video, including sub-Inspectors Ramrekha Singh and Shatrughan Paswan, as well as three assistants, sub-Inspectors Santosh Paswan, Sanjay Singh, and Rameshwar Uraon.

Mangla rejected any such incident as "fake news" when contacted by the media. Mrityunjay Kumar Singh, president of the Bihar Police Association, claimed that Mangla had ignored repeated calls.
The association president issued the following statement: "Our Nawada branch gave us the information shortly after the incident, and police personnel are also talking about it on WhatsApp groups. These kinds of events bring to mind the colonial era. The incident is unique in its kind and might damage the Bihar Police's reputation. We demand a judicial investigation as well as a careful examination of the CCTV footage."

The association demanded a judicial investigation into the Superintendent of Police, claiming that there are allegations that he is pressuring the angry police officers to cover up the incident and that attempts are being made to tamper with the CCTV footage.
The Indian Penal Code (IPC) relevant sections should be invoked, according to the association, and an investigation should start as soon as possible.
