New Delhi: The advanced and sophisticated form of the Indian postal system that is in front of us today is the result of a long journey of thousands of years. The initiative was taken by the British 150 years ago to unite the postal system, which was running in different parts in its own way, giving a new look and shade to the Indian post. But the postal system of the British was focused on their strategic and business interests.

After the independence of the country, a new phase of development of our postal system started keeping the needs of the common man at the center. It is the planned development process that has made India Post the largest and best postal system in the world. The Department of Posts has played a historic role in nation-building as well and its utility continues to remain constant. The common man has great faith in post offices and postmen. Even after all the ups and downs, no other organization has been able to earn so much public trust. This situation has not been created in a few years. Years of labor and service are behind it.

Even now its journey has not stopped, the Indian Postal Service is creating new dimensions every day and expanding its services even in remote areas. A pleasant picture of this has been shared by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on the Indian social media platform Koo. In which he has written, 'Har Gao Tak… postal servant. Koraput, Odisha. That is, now Dak Sevaks have started providing services in every corner of the country and this scope is increasing continuously.
