New Delhi: To reduce congestion in Mumbai's suburban local trains, Indian Railways has announced to run 610 additional trains from November 1. An official has given information in this regard on Saturday. According to a joint release issued by Central Railway and Western Railway, the number of special suburban local train services will increase to 2020 with these train services.
The release said that 314 of the 610 services would be operated on the Central Railway network, while the remaining 296 trains would run on the Western Railway network. The railway operates 1,410 services on the Mumbai suburban network, of which 706 operate on the Central Railway lines and 704 on the Western Railway lines. It is noteworthy that on June 15, the Railways resumed local train services for people working in emergency and essential services.
In view of the rush of passengers, it has been decided by the Railways to run two special trains. Among these, a special train will run between Durg to Patna and another special train from Durg to Raxaul. Both trains will run for one round. The special train running between Durg to Raxaul will leave Durg station on November 6 at 7.25 am and reach Chakradharpur at 5.40 minutes via Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela. This train will reach Raxaul at 1 am on November 7, passing through Tatanagar, Purulia, Asansol, Barauni, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur.
