Srinagar: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have achieved great success. Here, Saifullah, the chief commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed during an encounter on Rangreth Sunday. Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar has given information in this regard. Along with this, a suspect has also been arrested.

Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Range Vijay Kumar said that Dr. Saifullah, the chief operation commander of the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed in an encounter in Rangreth area on the outskirts of Srinagar, while a suspect was also arrested, who is being questioned is. He said that this is the second major success of the security forces this year after Reyaz Naikoo was killed.

Talking to press persons at the site of the encounter, the Kashmir police chief said that on specific information, joint teams of police and CRPF laid siege to Rangreth area and later the army also joined the operation. The IGP said, "I am 95 per cent confident that the terrorist killed is Hizbul's chief operational commander, Dr. Saifullah, who took command of Hizbul after killing his chief Reyaz Naiku in an encounter in May this year."
