New Delhi: There is a low pressure area along the Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and Odisha coast. It may be more powerful during the next 24 hours. On the other hand, cyclone squalls have also formed over Punjab and southwest Uttar Pradesh. This is changing seasonal activities.

According to the Met department (IMD), light to moderate rain is likely to occur in most parts of Uttar Pradesh today (June 12). The country's capital Delhi is also expected to receive light rain today. This can provide some relief from the sultry heat. According to the Met department, the weather changed in Kasganj, Deoband, Najibabad, Saharanpur, Chandpur, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Chandausi, Bilari and adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh today (Saturday) and the rains have brought relief from the heat.

In Uttarakhand, heavy rains have caused landslides at many places. The situation is bad as debris entered several houses in Narkota village situated on the banks of Badrinath Highway. The Met department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Uttarakhand for the next four days and advised the local administration to take adequate precautions. According to the Met department, strong winds are expected to blow with heavy rain and lightning for the next four days. Alert on heavy rain is at isolated places over Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Nainital and Champawat.
