New Delhi: The Modi government at the Centre has taken a major step towards the Pakistani propaganda campaign against India. In fact, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has blocked 20 YouTube channels spreading propaganda against the country. In addition, action has also been taken against two websites for anti-India propaganda. In separate orders, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has ordered Youtube to take these actions on 20 channels.

At the same time, the Department of Telecommunications has issued orders to internet service providers to block two websites to promote an anti-India campaign. According to sources, the operation follows coordinated efforts between intelligence agencies and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.  YouTube channels and websites that have been blocked in the country are linked to a planned propaganda network operated by Pakistan.

Fake news was being spread through these channels and websites regarding various sensitive topics related to India. The blocked channels were used to post divisive content in a pre-planned manner on topics such as Kashmir, indian army, minority communities in India.
