IndiGo Mumbai-Nagpur Flight reports Tail Damage while landing

An Indigo flight that took off from Mumbai airport reportedly suffered a tail damage while landing at Nagpur airport. The incident occurred on 14 April 2023 on flight 6E-203 from Mumbai-Nagpur.

According to a notification made public by IndiGo, the plane was grounded at Nagpur Airport for inspection and maintenance. The airline added that there were no reported injuries during the event. 
"Flight 6E 203 from Mumbai experienced a tail strike during making a landing at Nagpur on April 14, 2023. At the airport in Nagpur, the plane was ordered to stay grounded for inspection and maintenance. The issue is being thoroughly investigated, as per a statement from IndiGo.

When an aircraft's tail or empennage strikes the ground or any other stationary object during takeoff or landing, this is referred to as a tail strike.

A mechanical issue caused an IndiGo flight bound for Bagdogra, West Bengal, to return to Delhi earlier on April 15. According to IndiGo, the flight 6E 6282 from Delhi to Bagdogra returned to Delhi as a precaution. A source told PTI that the aircraft made an emergency landing due to a mechanical issue. The pilot requested a turnback after seeing a technical problem. The aircraft successfully landed and is currently undergoing the required inspection. The passengers were transported to Bagdogra on an alternative plane, according to a statement from IndiGo.

Prior to that, on April 4, a Varanasi-bound IndiGo flight encountered a mechanical issue and had to make an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad, Telangana. The airlines responded to the emergency landing of the Varanasi-bound flight by stating that Hyderabad was chosen as a "precaution."
